There is something weighing heavy on my mind and heart this memorial day. I am thinking about Kermit Evans. He is the young man that is pictured on my sight in the right-hand side. No, that is not a picture of me but a picture of my fallen frat brother, home boy, and little brother. I am throwing the Phi for you Frat. \m/ A PHI! A Phi little brother…06!
So this day, let us remember what this day is truly for. It is a day to pay homage and thanks to those who gave their lives for us. It is a day also to give thanks to those who are in service now, and those who have served. Thank you.
Well, that time has come again or should I say the time has gone again. We are in a new year. The nice thing about new years is that it brings hope for things to be better. I am really hopeful. I hope things are better for you in 2009 as well.
I have always loved this article. I believe it shows how cynical we become as we grow older. It also shows how we loose that magic that we naturally as children. In addition, if we continue to listen to other “adults” our beliefin this special magic becomes tainted and dimmed. So, for the holidays recapture that inner magic and head over to the Newseum and read the history behind the article, and visit the online exhibits and enjoy.
Happy Holidays!
I always like going home for the holidays. I really miss my immediate family. I was truly blessed with gifts from God by having the parents that I do. It is because of them, I am the person I am today. Continuing with the family theme, I have a wonderful wife, and great children. Thank you Heavenly Father.
Merry Christmas!
Okay, I know I have not written a post in a while. That is because I am trying to tie up loose ends on the two big projects I am working. They are close and I am quite proud of them. More importantly, they got done. Those applications were basically willed into being…my will that is. The interesting part is that everyone wants to use them now! They people are happy they are there. However as we all know in the IT world, the paper work is usually slower than the application. Oh well enough about work.
I did want to share a little bit about some time I tried to take off right before the rollouts of the software. However, as you have probably already guessed I spent most of the time working. Anyway… My wife and I wanted to do something really special for my Mom on Mother’s Day. Of course my wife would reap the same benefits. On with the story…it turns out my Mom is a big Emerils fan. So since we were going to the happiest place on earth (will be in a later post …guess you will have to come back to see what that is about! ), we decided to take her to Emerils restaurant. I believe she was excited and enjoyed it. There was a hefty check considering all of the people in our party, but it was worth it to see the happiness in my Mom’s eyes. By the way, I believe my Daddy enjoyed it too.
Happy Easter! Remember the reason for the observance, and give thanks. Amen.
Happy New Year everyone. This is where everyone writes about all of the new year resolutions. If you guess I am about to do that, then you are absolutely correct. However, I will hopefully be a little more reasonable than some.
I believe five should be enough. This is enough for me to remember and to possibly keep. Speaking of keeping…
I hope you are also making realistic resolutions and setting some achievable goals to build upon. I wish you and yours prosperity in 2007.
Cheers!
