What would it be like…

Monday, April 7th, 2008

You know I get up everyday as most responsible Adults do and go to a job.  However, in my case my job is never 9 to 5.  It is continuously demanding more and more time with no compensation outside of the regular salary.  I believe today was really one of those days.  So overwhelmed that I did not know where to begin.  I have actually started to have to keep to do list that seem to get more and more things added before I can finish them.  All of this has made me wonder what it would be like to have a job at doing something that you liked or loved?  Can you tell me what the felling is like?  I would sure like to know because I am not sure I will ever experience that feeling…

No Cheers.

Wiiderful

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Well, it turns out that the wife was finally able to get a Wii. It was great to see the small one marveling over the box. I heard where is Mommy. I explained Mommy went to get a surprise. The timing was priceless. Mom drove up in the car, and opened the garage door. Then I heard, “What is that?” I said that was the surprise. I then heard, “Is that mine?” I said yes, and then I heard “Thanks Guys!” :) Priceless is all I can say. :)

That has been the only consolation for today considering I have hobbling around. :( Oh well…

Cheers!

Decisions

Still waiting for things to slow down a bit.  I hope to get back to my posting shortly. Decisions, decisions. Cheers!

Last day of 2007

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Hmmm…I had to think about this one. Is not this day where we are suppose to say something profound and make promises about the upcoming year? This is despite the fact that we know we will not be able to keep half of the promises that we make? Well, I guess resistance is futile. Therefore, I will take an attempt at this long valued and trite tradition.

  • I spend more time in Church than I have in 2007.
  • I will spend more time with my tiny one, and the rest of the family for that fact.
  • I will exercise more and invest in the piece of exercise equipment I believe I enjoy the most.
  • I will not let things at work bother me as much as they do now. If they do, I will begin looking for another job.
  • I am going to enjoy life more.
  • I am going to also work on my finances in all aspects.

I am going to keep to just these six and see how I do this year. Happy New Year to you all, and God Bless. Peace and Goodwill to all.

Cheers!

The Human Factor

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

You know, we spend a lot of time focusing on the bad things that happen on a daily basis. Lets face it, we perceive the bad to loom over the daily good that happens to us. I myself am no different. I was just explaining to my wife the current woes that I have at work. She inquired what brought on that exchange, because normally I try not to discuss work at home. However, I had to explain on this occasion that I find myself in a no win situation at work. It is to the point where I find myself dreaming, or should say having a nightmare, about the existing state of things for me at work. That in itself is yet another story.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, it is to illustrate that the bad that occurs in life usually has a front-row seat in our lives. How often have you found yourself discussing what I would call a “feel good” story of human triumph? Because it is this human triumph and hope that I believe that keeps us going each day. It is knowing that each day we can possibly overcome any obstacles that present themselves to us each and every day. Each day is presented as a challenge, and no goal is too lofty.

Well, I am going to end my post here with an example of what I mean. This is a story about a gentleman who sells mobile phones during the day, and has a dream of singing opera. My human factor wants to believe this gentleman is exactly that…a gentleman. My factor also wants to believe he is a deserving humble individual as well. My human factor wants this gentleman to succeed because I need to believe that I too have a chance to do what I love. To him I say, “Bravo!”

Cheers!

What?

I believe what is a very philosophical question.  It is quite flexible in its meaning and use.  I bet right now you are saying, “What?”

Pumpkin Picking!

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Jumbo Banner

We hand another outing today. We have been trying to do some activity as a Family every Saturday. Today’s adventure took us pumpkin picking at a place called Jumbos. I thought this was really neat. There was a pony ride, face painting, and petting farm for the small one. There was also a corn maze which we did not do due to how big it was, and the age of the small one. :) Then finally there was pumpkin picking. It was really a fun time. We will probably visit some other pumpkin patches, but I feel a family tradition coming on.

Cheers!
