Birkenstocks rock!

Birkenstocks rock!

I wanted to let you in on one of the best kept secrets.  I used to see people walking around in these funny looking shoes.  Now I know why.  The shoes, when broken in, make your feet feel great.  They are pleasingly comfortable.  I would recommend them to anyone.  They are called Birkenstocks.

Whirlwind week

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

This has been one of the best weeks in a long time.  We spent time at the The Great Wolf Lodge, where indulge in all the activities of the water resort.  We also went to the Cole Bros. Circus.  Hopefully, my PC will boot up where I can download the pictures we took and get them uploaded.

Cheers!

An Interesting Adventure Begins - Day 1

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Well, today, I am left to my own devices with the small one.  This should turn out to be really interesting.  So far so good.  The shock that the Mommy unit was missing this morning was not an issue.  I just to have make it until the Mommy unit returns from her business trip.    Wish me luck.  This is for all the daddies, and father units out there. :)

Decided to update this post.  I was able to get through the day with no issues with the small one. :)  Also managed to get the small one to go to sleep with out issue as well.  That is one for the Father Parental Units. :)

Cheers!

Universal Studios on Mother’s Day

Emerils Restaurant Outside at Universal StudiosEmerils Restaurant Inside at Universal Studios

Okay, I know I have not written a post in a while. That is because I am trying to tie up loose ends on the two big projects I am working. They are close and I am quite proud of them. :) More importantly, they got done. Those applications were basically willed into being…my will that is. :) The interesting part is that everyone wants to use them now! They people are happy they are there. However as we all know in the IT world, the paper work is usually slower than the application. :) Oh well enough about work.

I did want to share a little bit about some time I tried to take off right before the rollouts of the software. However, as you have probably already guessed I spent most of the time working. Anyway… My wife and I wanted to do something really special for my Mom on Mother’s Day. Of course my wife would reap the same benefits. :) On with the story…it turns out my Mom is a big Emerils fan. So since we were going to the happiest place on earth (will be in a later post :)…guess you will have to come back to see what that is about! :)), we decided to take her to Emerils restaurant. I believe she was excited and enjoyed it. :) There was a hefty check considering all of the people in our party, but it was worth it to see the happiness in my Mom’s eyes. By the way, I believe my Daddy enjoyed it too. ;)

Happy New Year!

Monday, January 1st, 2007

Happy New Year everyone.  This is where everyone writes about all of the new year resolutions.  If you guess I am about to do that, then you are absolutely correct. :)  However, I will hopefully be a little more reasonable than some.

  • I intend to loose some weight.  Notice I said some, and did not indicate a specific amount. ;)
  • I will also try to exercise more than I did in 2006.  So, if I do this one I should be able to keep the first resolution.
  • I intend to also not stress so much about work.  However, this is predicated after I have my IT shop organization in place.
  • I intend to spend more time with my family.
  • I intend to do more things for me.  I may or may not elaborate on this some time in the future.  Guess you will have to keep coming back to see. :P
  • I intend to pray and attend church more this coming year.  Once again, if I keep this one then all of the others will be achievable because prayer makes all things possible.

I believe five should be enough.  This is enough for me to remember and to possibly keep. :)  Speaking of keeping…

I hope you are also making realistic resolutions and setting some achievable goals to build upon.  I wish you and yours prosperity in 2007.

Cheers!

One Last ‘06…Part II

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

I am not sure how I am coping with Kermit’s death. I keep searching the web for pictures and information on him. I see what other people have said about him. It appears they all have met and been touched by that smiling little kid I know. I am just having a hard time understanding the reasons why he was there in Iraq. To show how cruel life can be, I believe he found out he was suppose to be back at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico in January.

One Last ‘06…

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

I have many friends who have gone over seas to Iraq. I am also quite sure I have many more that I am not aware of. However, this past week was the first time I had someone so close to me…confirmed dead. Did you hear me? “Confirmed dead…”

It is kind of hard for me to write about this. I personally grew up with this person. He was like...No, he was a little brother to me. The day he told me he had cross the sands to become my fraternity brother are still fresh in my mind. I was also proud of him at college because I could say, there is another homeboy making it in this world. More importantly, he was making it the right way The loss is tearing me up. As another frat put it in his news paper article, one last time for my frat and brother…Captain Kermit Evans.

“One….Nine……..06.!!!” *silence*
