Turns out there is a security update to WordPress. If you have not read it, then go read it. If the security issue is not fixed on your site, then address it.

Friday, May 20th, 2005The WordPress team does not get enough kudos for the great work they are doing. This is work that they are also doing for free. I deal with software on a daily basis, and I must say their product was easy to install. More importantly, it has been easy to maintain and upgrade. Those things alone say a lot about the product. Also, I monitor the Support Forums. The support that is provided by the regulars there, and the public at large is above par. Did I also mention there are numerous sites providing support? I am glad I discovered WordPress. I believe technology, such as this, brings out the better in human beings. People helping people and sharing a common interest. The human spirit does not get any better than this. Cheers WordPress.

Wordpress upgrade 1.5.1.1
Friday, May 20th, 2005Well, WordPress came out with some fixes. I upgraded and things did not go so well or so it appeared. I kept thinking it was something that I did so I unistalled and reinstalled. Got the same message again. So, it was finally time to do some research in the forums. Turns out it was not me after all. Turns out it was my webhost provider. So, I feel much better today. Because of this endeavor, I am feeling a bit bolder now. I believe it is time for me to look into performance tuning now!

Great Tutorial
Sunday, April 24th, 2005I have been waiting to customize WordpPress some more for myself. The customization started with plugins. Plugins are pieces of module code that can be added to your application, blog, etc. There are some really great things out there for use. If you need it or can think of it, then nine times out of ten someone has coded a WordPress plugin for it. If it has not been done, then you can build it yourself.
Anyway in my quest to make my piece of cyberspace more my own, I kept coming across a tutorial that was referenced by the WordPress sites I frequent. I decided to read it for myself, and I am glad that I did. I will keep this post up to date with the parts of the tutorial as they come out. If you are a WordPress user, I would suggest that you read it. It is a great tutorial.
